Hello everyone, Cole here, just logging on real quick to pass along a quick update after our appointment with the IVF clinic today. Jessica and I wanton this morning for a quick ultrasound to measure the thickness of her endometrium. The doctor informed us that, ideally, they look for the lining to be 5.5 to 6.0 millimeters in thickness before going through with the embryo transfer. After the ultrasound, we found out that Jessica's lining is currently at 3.3 millimeters, so not quite there yet.

This was a bit of a bummer as we were looking forward to the transfer as soon as possible, due to the timeline that we are on, as well as the excitement. After all, this is the big step - why we came so far.

On the bright side however, the doctor was very happy wit the health and appearance of the lining, and set up another appointment for us on Tuesday morning to get another measurement. She also prescribed Jessica with an additional estrogen supplement, as well as increasing the number of patches she needs to wear. So at this point, she has to wear 3 estrogen patches, as well as take 6 estrogen pills per day (2 pills every 8 hours). All in an effort to get her lining as thick as possible.

So fingers crossed that we get the green light on Tuesday!!! e have been talking between the two of us that the possibility of staying a few extra days i not ideal, as we are both more than ready to come home. Whatever it takes, though.

After our appointment today we also took the opportunity to go to the beach, as we have not done that yet. We re-visited an area called Barceloneta where we had been a few days prior for brunch, but walked a bit further until we hit the sea. We talked about 1.5 miles along the beach and boardwalk to a beautiful hotel, The W ($1,000 per night rooms), and then turned back and walked back to Barceloneta. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, and just the right amount of breeze. Jess and I both put our feet int he Med, but only went about knee deep, because for some reason we didn't bring towels to the beach. I know right!? Who does that!

The sand was much more course than we were expecting, and the sea was beautiful and cool. Not nearly as cold as we were expecting. People watching on the beach is always fun too, second best place to the airport in my opinion And this beach did not disappoint.

Anyway, that's our quick update for today. We are attending a cooking class tomorrow in an effort to do 1 or 2 more touristy things before the transfer and Jess is out of commission for 1-2 days.

We look forward to updating you all with any news that comes our way. Thanks for stopping by. We love you all!

    -Cole
