For-Gaudi 'bout It!

See what I did there?

The last few days we've been fortunate to have family in town. Cole's cousins, Jessie and Jackie, are also here with family and we've met up a few times to experience Barcelona together. We visited various Gaudi locations, including Casa Vicens, Park Güell, and the Gaudi House Museum. All of these locations were highly informative and the architecture itself is breathtaking!

Park Güell you may recognize from the banner background picture on our website! We attempted to take a similar picture, however, they closed that specific overlook due to restorations that won't be complete until December 2018.

Last night, we also went to a traditional Flamenco show! I am 90% sure this is the same Flamenco show I went to when I came to Spain in high school!

Also, an update on our fertility journey...

On Sunday 5/27, we had our egg retrieval. All in all, we collected 20 eggs, which is a great number. Of those 20, we had 13 that were considered "mature" and 12 of those were successfully fertilized.

On day 2, we were informed that, of the 12 embryos, 11 of them were progressing as expected and one of them was dividing slower. Most clinics rate the embryos, and our clinic is no different. Ours rate them on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best quality. As of day 2, we had five 10's, three 9's, two 8's, one 7, and one 4.

On day 3 (today, 5/30), 9 were progressing well, and three were dividing more slowly. We current have four 10's, three 9's, two 8's, two 6's, and one 4. According to the clinic, these are normal progressions and we are thrilled with them.

At this point in the game, we're waiting until I am given the go-ahead to start the estrogen, which will make a cushy place for our embryos to nestle and become little people! Until then, Cole and I are laying low and enjoying the last few weeks we have in Barcelona.
